An injured male found at the scene was taken to hospital

THUNDER BAY — Police remain on the scene of a shooting incident in a northside Thunder Bay neighbourhood that sent one person to hospital.

According to a Thunder Bay Police Service news release, officers were sent to the 100 block of Machar Avenue at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

An injured male located at the scene was taken by paramedics to hospital for treatment of what a police spokesperson described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the police service's major crime unit, forensic identification unit and K9 unit were all involved in the initial response.

The residence where the incident occurred was surrounded by police tape Wednesday morning as the investigation continued.

A person who lives in the neighbourhood told TBnewswatch they heard multiple gunshots late Tuesday night.

They also said people are entering and leaving the property at all times of the day and night.

One person was injured in a shooting at the same location in January 2022.
