THUNDER BAY — Calls to 911 prompted police in the city to make a traffic stop on Monday.

Thunder Bay Police responded emergency calls about a possible impaired driver late Monday morning.

After stopping the vehicle along Edward Street, police conducted an investigation and found what is believed to be crack cocaine, heroin, along with open containers of alcohol and drug paraphernalia.

The 48-year-old female driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation, and a drug recognition evaluation (DRE) was conducted by a certified officer.

Her vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and her drivers licence suspended for 90 days.

The accused has a future court date.
