Police responded to a two-vehicle collision Thursday around 11 p.m. on Highway 17 approximately 20 kilometres east of Upsala.

According to a release, police say the male driver and lone occupant of a grey four-door automobile travelling eastbound on Highway 17 lost control of the vehicle, crossed over into the westbound lane and collided with a white westbound transport trailer unit.

The identification of the driver is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Police say the driver of the transport trailer unit was uninjured.
