Police find 10.5 pounds of pot during traffic stop

Police officers in Kenora found nearly 11 pounds of pot after a traffic stop Friday. Officers with the Kenora detachment of the OPP say they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the City of Kenora around 2 a.m.

Officers with the Kenora detachment of the OPP say they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the City of Kenora around 2 a.m.
The officer could detect what appeared to be an odour of marijuana.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of 10.5 pounds of marijuana. Police say the estimated street value of the narcotics seized is nearly $90,000.

Bradley Heinzelmann, 26, William Merrit, 35, Darren Rutherford, 34, and Ashton Peliquin, 24, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

All four suspects are schedule to appear in a Kenora courtroom on Dec. 1, to answer the charges against them.
