THUNDER BAY -- Police are investigating four incidents of break and enter where a lone male stole cigarettes.
Just after midnight Thursday morning a male suspect smashed the glass and entered the Can-Op on Oliver Road. Police say he stole a significant number of cigarettes and fled the scene.
A similar incident happened at the Beaver Gas Bar on Shuniah Street at 4:15 a.m.
The same Beaver Gas Bar was hit in a similar fashion on Jan. 6 at 3:30 a.m. and Leppanen’s Store on Dawson Road was also broken into on Jan. 7 just after 4 a.m.
In all four incidents a lone male smashed the glass, entered the business and then left with a significant amount of cigarettes.
“At this point in time we are investigating them as separate incidents. However, we are taking a look at all the similarities,” said police spokeswoman Const. Julie Tilbury.
