THUNDER BAY - Thunder Bay police are seeking any video footage of a serious collision that sent a male pedestrian to hospital with serious injuries on Monday night.

Police say they were dispatched to Grenville Avenue and Marion Street just before 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21.

A man in his 70s suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital recovering, said Sgt. Bill Pollock on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The driver of the black pickup truck believed to be involved in the collision remained on scene and has been cooperative with police, Pollock said.

“Unfortunately the victim has been seriously injured, he is currently in ICU for observation for the next couple of days,” he said.

Investigators are looking to speak with witnesses and anyone who may have captured the incident by video.

“Any video footage that you may have captured whether it is a security camera or from another vehicle we would be happy to take a look at it,” he said.

Police say the investigation remains in its early stages and a cause has not been determined yet.

“Right now there are no charges that have been laid,” Pollock said, adding police continue to gather evidence in the area.

Anyone with information or video footage in connection to the collision can police at 807-684-1276.
