THUNDER BAY — Three people are facing drug-trafficking charges after city police allegedly found cocaine and fentanyl in a north-side residence on Monday.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service's intelligence unit carried out a search warrant at home on Gemstone Drive.
The warrant was obtained as a result of an investigation into suspected drug-trafficking.
Three suspects were located in the residence and all three were arrested.
A search of the home resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine and fentanyl and more than $5,000 in cash, according to a news release issued Tuesday. Paraphernalia consistent with drug-trafficking was also seized, said police.
Police estimate the value of the seized drugs to be about $311,000.
A 26-year-old and 24-year-old, both from Toronto, and a 39-year-old from Thunder Bay were all charged with possession of cocaine and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The OPP assisted in the investigation.
