THUNDER BAY – City police have four people in custody on drug-related offences following an execution of two search warrants early Friday morning.
According to a police release, officers executed two search warrants in the city’s southside early Friday morning as a result of an ongoing drug investigation byThunder Bay Police Service, OPP, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and Anishinabek Police Service.
The two search warrants focused on residential locations in the 200 block of Simpson Street and 100 block of Bethune Street.
Police say as a result of those searched officers located a significant amount of crack and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $75,000.
Police also seized a large amount of Canadian currency believed to be upwards of $50,000.
Michael Anthony Prahay, 28, of Toronto, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and trafficking cocaine.Tracey Lee-Ann Deruiter, 47, of Thunder Bay, is charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance of the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Shawn Allan Thomas Maybee, 37, of Thunder Bay, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, obstruct peace officer, and probation order non-compliance.
Courtney Earl Adams, 30, of Toronto, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime.
All appeared in court Friday and were remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
