Second COVID-19 outbreak declared at Hogarth Riverview Manor

THUNDER BAY – A second area of the Hogarth Riverview Manor long-term care home is in a COVID-19 outbreak, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports.

The health unit declared an outbreak in the first-floor Spruce Grove resident area in a statement Tuesday.

The health unit reported an outbreak in the 1N (Daffodil) area of the home, operated by the St. Joseph’s Care Group, on Aug. 19.

The health unit was reporting seven outbreaks of COVID-19 in vulnerable settings across the district as of Tuesday, including the two at Hogarth Riverview Manor.

Others were reported at Southbridge Roseview long-term care home, Bethammi Nursing Home, the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre’s 1A unit, and the St. Joseph’s Hospital’s 4N/4S area.
