BIG TROUT LAKE, Ont. -- a 19-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault among other offences following an alleged attack in Big Trout Lake.
Officials with the Sioux Lookout detachment of the OPP say Big Trout Lake Police received a report of a sexual assault on March 11.
The OPP were notified of the incident and assisted with the investigation.
Police say an investigation revealed that a 19-year-old woman had been attacked in the early morning hours of March 11. She was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A 19-year-old man had been charged with charges of sexual assault, forcible confinement and overcoming resistance.
The suspect remains in custody.
