SHUNIAH — A 26-year-old Shuniah man has been charged with murder.
Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a residence on Blind Creek Drive on Monday around 10:50 p.m. and located one person deceased.
Another individual was taken into custody.
The victim has been identified as Shelley Marconi, 54, of Shuniah.
Kyle Barry, 26, also of Shuniah, has been charged with second-degree murder. He's believed to be the murder victim's stepson.
Barry is in custody and has a court appearance scheduled for Friday in Thunder Bay.
The OPP North West Region crime unit is investigating under the direction of the OPP criminal investigation branch. Also assisting are the Office of the Chief Coroner, Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and the OPP's forensic identification services.
