FORT FRANCES – A Fort Frances trio are facing stolen property charges following an incident in Fort Frances early Monday morning.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, while conducting a foot patrol in the area of 1000 block of Walker Avenue on Sept. 27, officers found two females trespassing on numerous properties, lurking around garages and attempting to break into a vehicle.

Police say when the two females were confronted and placed under arrest, a male suspect emerged from the property and was also arrested.

Officers recognized the male from an earlier break, enter and theft occurrence.

As a result of the investigation, two females and one male all from Fort Frances were charged.

Ashley Gauthier, 30, Mary Louise Davis, 28, and Anthony Thompson, 26, have been charged with one count each of possession of stolen property and trespass by night.

Both Thompson and Davis were re-arrested on the strength of outstanding bench warrants for charges stemming from a break and enter occurring on Aug. 16.

The pair have been released on a Form 10 Undertaking before a Peace Officer, while Gauthier was remanded into custody as a result of a bail hearing held on Sept. 27.

Further follow-up is being conducted in an attempt to locate the owners of the recovered stolen property.
