Suspected impaired driver found cruising in stolen vehicle
Police in Kenora stopped and arrested an 18-year-old driver suspected of being drunk, only to later learn that the vehicle he was driving had been reported stolen.
Officials with the Kenora detachment of the OPP say officers stopped the vehicle at 2 a.m. Wednesday on Gold Course Road in Kenora. The vehicle was stopped because officers noticed it being driven erratically.
Police say the driver appeared to be impaired, and was arrested and returned to the Kenora detachment as a result.
It was reported later that the vehicle the man was found in had been reported stolen from a Third Street home.
Konrad Muckle, 18, of Winnipeg, has been charged with impaired driving, possession of property obtained by crime, breaching probation and operating a vehicle without a licence.
A bail court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday.
