Taranis Contracting Group says they’ve been awarded paving contracts from the City of Thunder Bay through a fair tendering process.

On Wednesday, at-large Coun. Ken Boshcoff complained that the company appeared to have  overcommitted itself and that there were three paving projects that wouldn’t even be started this year because the company appeared to be stretched too thin.

Ryan Jones, the general manager of the Thunder Bay-based company, responded to Boshcoff’s claims in a statement issued to the media Thursday afternoon.

“Taranis Contracting Group has been awarded several paving contracts with the City of Thunder Bay through a fair tendering process. As a company, we have developed a positive working relationship with the City of Thunder Bay based on trust, transparency and best cost solutions,” the statement issued to media reads.

“At Taranis Contracting Group, our goal is to complete every contract on-time and on-budget without ever jeopardizing the quality of our services. We also communicate openly and proactively when there are potential changes to a project schedule.”

The company acknowledges the hard work and overtime efforts from their workforce during the past several weeks and they also thank the community of Thunder Bay for their continued patience and co-operation during the construction season.
