THUNDER BAY -- The health unit is increasing walk-in opportunities in Thunder Bay.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is creating more walk-in opportunities to make it more convenient for individuals to get vaccinated starting on Thursday, Jan. 27.
Anyone 50 years of age and older can walk-in for a booster dose at the CLE Coliseum Clinic in Thunder Bay. In addition, first doses for children ages five to
11 years old are available by walk-in at the CLE Heritage Building Clinic.
Walk-in spots are also available to:
- Individuals aged 12 and over – for first and second doses
- Pregnant people – for first, second and booster doses
- Immunocompromised people – for all doses as eligible
Individuals can walk-in to these clinics anytime during specified hours. These clinics generally operate six days a week with morning, afternoon and early evening times available.
In the District communities, weekly clinics have been scheduled. Please visit the TBDHU website to see dates and locations of these clinics. Walk-in opportunities are also typically available at these clinics, and will be posted on social media when they are confirmed.
Appointments can be booked through the provincial booking system or by calling 1-833-943- 3900. At this time, in Thunder Bay, second doses for five to 11 year olds and booster doses for anyone under the age of 50 remain by appointment only; however, TBDHU will be moving to walk-in opportunities for these groups as well, in the near future.
Select pharmacies and some primary care providers also continue to provide COVID-19 vaccine to all who are eligible.
Stay tuned to the TBDHU website and social media for more information and announcements as details become available.
