VOX POPULAR MEDIA ARTS FESTIVAL

THUNDER BAY -- The 18th Annual Vox Popular Media Arts Festival is back from Sept. 8 - 11 at the Definitely Superior Art Gallery. The festival features 46 local, Canadian, and International films with 10+ visiting filmmakers doing Q&As. Select films will be available online for free following the festival from September 12-16 at www.researchtv.ca

Vox Popular and the Definitely Superior Art Gallery are co-hosting a regional art exhibition to greet festival goers as they enter the festival. The exhibition titled Yugen will feature the works of 42 visual artists from Thunder Bay and the surrounding region. The gallery opens on September 2nd with a gala event and will be open until October 8th.

The festival will also feature various performances from local musicians, poets, wrestlers, dancers, and more. All the films, visual artists, and performers will be listed on www.voxpopular.ca.

It is $45 for a weekend pass or $15 for the day, or pay what you can. Everyone is welcome to join this amazing celebration of local artists.

Following the festival we will host the ‘Rebel 101’ workshop with the local activist group Disrupt. It will be held at the gallery on Sept. 14 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
