Three more deaths are linked to COVID-19

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports that 120 people have died with COVID-19 listed as an underlying or contributing cause since April 2020.

THUNDER BAY — Another three individuals with COVID-19 have passed away in the Thunder Bay area in the past week.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit made the disclosure Thursday morning in its weekly update of pandemic-related data.

Since April 2020, the virus has been either the underlying cause or a contributing cause of the deaths of 120 people in the district.

According to the TBDHU, 43 people are currently in hospital with COVID-19, including one in intensive care.

The positivity test rate for the week that ended on Sept. 27 was 14.8 per cent, compared with 11.8 per cent for the Ontario average.

In the previous week, the district's positivity test rate was 19.5 per cent, while the Ontario average was 11.1 per cent.
