THUNDER BAY – A Thunder Bay man has been arrested and is facing a child pornography charge following an ongoing investigation from last year.
According to a Thunder Bay Police Service release, 64-year-old John Joseph O’Brien has been arrested and charged with accessing child pornography.
Police said Cyber Crime Unit detectives were examining evidence linked to a case involving Ashley Dawn Raymer, 24, who was arrested by police in November 2018 and charged with several offences related to child pornography.
Through their investigation, detectives were able to identify a local man who had received images of child pornography from Raymer.
Investigators also located conversations between the two accused through chat logs.
O’Brien appeared in court Friday and was released with a future court date. The charges have not been tested in court.
