Dust off your armour, mend those cosplays, shine those Starfleet pins, and practice your incantations because ThunderCon is coming back!
After two years of lockdown and COVID restrictions on events and large public gatherings, popular fan convention ThunderCon is proud to announce that, barring a new wave, they will be back in fine geeky form next fall.
We have confirmed dates for September 17/18, 2022,” says Board Chair, Kevin Taylor. “The Board of Directors and the core organizing committee volunteers are excited to have a definitive goal established and look forward to getting to work solidifying guests, operational funding, and logistical support.”
Traditionally held over two days in the Fall, ThunderCon features panels, performances, celebrity guests and a bustling geek/nerd marketplace for all ages. The economic effects of the pandemic have been felt especially hard in the entertainment and retail sectors, so ThunderCon is hoping the upcoming event can add a welcome stimulus to both industries, as well as provide some much-needed fun in fan communities of the Northwest.
We have been fortunate enough to develop some important new relationships with similar convention organizers during the hiatus,” says Taylor. “And with science, perseverance, and human ingenuity, we are able to further develop a safe, inclusive, and positive entertainment experience for all ages.”
