Traffic stop leads to multiple charges in Sioux Lookout

SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – A traffic stop by the Ontario Provincial Police has resulted in multiple charges for two men.

OPP conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle On Highway 72 near Ojibway Park on Oct. 25 around 1:26 p.m.

According to a release, officers observed drug paraphernalia left in plain view, and seized a small quantity of Methamphetamine, along with brass knuckles and a crossbow.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old from Sioux Lookout has been charged with possession of schedule I substance, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of weapon, failure to comply with undertaking and possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing Oct. 31.

Police also arrested and charged a 20-year-old from Lac Seul First Nation with failure to comply with conditions of undertaking given by officer in charge, possession of a schedule I substance, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of weapon.

He has been held in custody pending a video bail hearing on Nov. 2.
