Traffic stop leads to seizure of drugs and ammunition

DRYDEN, Ont. – A 25-year-old man faces a number of drug-related charges following a traffic stop.

According to a media release, Dryden OPP conducted a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon on Highway 17 in Eton Township.

As a result, officers seized two boxes of ammunition and a large quantity of drugs with an estimated street value of $50,000.

Police charged a 25-year-old Montreal man with possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in a schedule 1 substance, possession of more than 30 grams of dried cannabis in a public place and possession of a firearm or ammunition.

The accused appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday.
