Two people face drug charges in Dryden

Police charge two people with drug-related charges following a drug bust.

DRYDEN, Ont. – Two people are facing drug-related charges following a drug bust on Wednesday in Dryden.

Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant on a Dryden residence Wednesday around 8:30 p.m. and seized 31 grams of methamphetamine, drug trafficking materials, Canadian currency and a prohibited weapon.

As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old of Dryden was arrested and charged with possession of a scheduled 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, possession of a schedule 1 substance – cocaine, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failure to comply with recognizance.

A 29-year-old from Wabigoon was also arrested and charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance – cocaine and failure to comply with a recognizance.

Both accused are being held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 14.
