THUNDER BAY — Family members and friends of a 19-year-old Thunder Bay man are grieving his tragic passing in a motor vehicle accident.
Kasey Dias was pronounced deceased at the scene after the four-door passenger car he was operating was involved in a weekend collision on Highway 589 at Lappe.
Ontario Provincial Police reported the vehicle was discovered Saturday at a location about 400 metres north of the intersection with Moving Post Road.
The incident resulted in an extended closure of Highway 589 between Moving Post Road and Old Hall Road.
An OPP spokesperson indicated Monday that the investigation is ongoing.
Police asked that anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage from the vicinity, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
