THUNDER BAY – The waterfront bus terminal has been closed to the public, in the city’s latest move to avoid the spread of COVID-19 in Thunder Bay.

The city says bus service will continue as normal, and passengers can continue to access busses via the platforms at the waterfront terminal. Only access to the interior of the building itself has been closed.

The closure is the latest step taken by the city to protect employees and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Thunder Bay Transit had already implemented fare-free service and rear entry, and blocked off the front of city buses, in efforts to protect its operators.

The city also previously announced the closure of many city facilities, and more recently closed service desks and, on Monday, city hall.
