Border Cats rally from 5 down, take fourth straight win

Robb Paller doubled home a pair of seventh-inning runs, completing yet another wild comeback by the Thunder Bay Border Cats.

Paller’s RBIs proved to be the difference in the Cats 10-8 road win over the Duluth Huskies, who took a 5-0 lead after four innings.

Paller had earlier blasted a solo shot, just the third homerun of the season hit by a Thunder Bay player. Jordan Serena had three hits in five at bats, including a two-run triple to help pace the Cats 13-hit attack, falling homer short of the cycle.

Gunnar Kay endured a shaky start, surrendering five runs in four innings. The win, the streaking Border Cats fourth straight, went to Reid Peavy, despite a less-than-stellar outing that saw him allow three more run on four hits in two innings of work.

Sean Poppen took the loss for the Huskies.

With the win, the Cats, who return home Thursday for a two-game set against front-running Willmar (19-6), improved to 12-18. Duluth dropped to 8-23.
