Unable to reach an American Hockey League deal with the Carolina Hurricanes organization, Matt Caria will spend the 2010-11 hockey season with the Lakehead Thunderwolves.

The Sault Ste. Marie native, who joined the Wolves at the Christmas break last season, had 13 goals and 35 in 25 conference, non-conference and playoff games in 2009-10.

Caria is expected to skate with the Wolves for the first time on Friday night, when the team practices at the Tournament Centre from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Lakehead kicks off its 10th anniversary season next weekend, hosting Ottawa in a pair of non-conference games Friday and Saturday night at Fort William Gardens.
