Back-to-back pitching gems have landed the Thunder Bay Border Cats their fourth win in five outings.
On Tuesday, in the opener of a doubleheader in Duluth, starter Charles Thielman scattered just four hits in seven-plus innings of work, leading the Cats to a convincing 8-4 win over the host Huskies.
Second baseman Jordan Serena, who entered the contest hitting a paltry .094, collected four hits in five at bats to pace the suddenly streaking Border Cats to their 10th win of the season.
Catcher Christian Correa, hitting out of the No. 9 hole, also drove in a pair for Thunder Bay in support of Thielmann, who evened his record at 2-2.
Corey Copping took the loss, allowing eight hits and five runs in 5.1 innings pitched for the Huskies.
