Cats snap three-game slide in Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. – The Thunder Bay Border Cats are back in the win column.

The Northwoods League team broke out of a three-game losing slide on Thursday, downing the Duluth Huskies 6-2 in the Huskies home park.

Noah Strohl led the way offensively for the Cats, collecting two hits in four trips to the plate while driving in four runs in the matinee affair.

Third baseman Brendan Dougherty also had two hits and crossed the plate twice for Thunder Bay, who improved to 4-6.

Brandon Fokkema, who took over in the fifth from starter Jake Mielock, tossed three innings of three0-hit ball and was credited with the win.

Kyle Hubbuch had a two-run double for the Huskies in the eighth off Border Cats reliever Austin Truso.
