Cotto was 3-for-5 on the night, with two runs scored and two driven in, while Brett Kay was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.
Border Cats starter Matt Cooper only lasted into the third, giving up seven hits and five runs, but only one of them was earned.

James Buckelew took over and pitched through the sixth, giving up three hits and three walks, but kept the Stingers off the scoreboard.
All-stars Wes Parsons and Jordan McCoy, who picked up his ninth save, finished it off for Thunder Bay (7-11).

The Cats return to action Thursday night against St. Cloud at Port Arthur Stadium.
