Scott Donley hit his team-leading fifth homerun Wednesday nice, pacing the Thunder Bay Border Cats to a second straight road win.
Donley went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs driven in for the Cats, who downed the Waterloo Bucks 7-3, backing starter Dan Ludwig to his third win of the season.
Danny Bethea also had two RBI for the winning side, while Paydon Cawley Lamb, hitting out of the two-spot, scored a pair.
Ludwig lasted seven innings, giving up three runs on eight hits.
Chad Richie and Mitch McQueen closed it, each allowing a single hit in an inning of relief.
The win upped Thunder Bay’s record to 3-4 in second-half play, bumping them into a three-way tie for fourth place in the Northwoods League’s North Division, two games behind front-running Mankato.
James Buckelew is expected to get the start on Thursday when the Cats and Bucks tangle for a third straight night.
