ST. LOUIS – The Thunder Bay Chill are headed home in top spot in the Premier Development League’s Heartland Division.

The Chill scored a 2-0 win on Sunday over the St. Louis Lions, and grabbed a four-point lead atop the standings, inching closer and closer to yet another post-season berth.

Chris Makengo scored in the ninth minute and Abraham Villon added another in the 50th to give the Chill the win.

Thunder Bay, who did not allow a goal in three games on the road and have allowed a league low four goals all season long, also got a penalty kick save from keeper David Elias in stoppage time at the end of the opening half.

The Chill are now 7-2-2. The Lions slipped to 6-4-1 in second, two points ahead of Des Moines (5-4-2).

Next up for Thunder Bay is a home date on Friday against the St. Louis FC U23 squad.
