Chill nail down playoff berth

For a sixth year in a row, the Thunder Bay Chill are playoff bound.

For a sixth year in a row, the Thunder Bay Chill are playoff bound.

Sullivan Silva and company made coach Tony Colistro wait until the last possible minute to make it happen Saturday night, but the striker’s goal in the 90th minute was enough to clinch a postseason berth and a 1-0 lead over the host St. Louis Lions.

The Chill (10-1-0), maintained a five-point lead on second place Real Colorado (7-3-4), and can clinch the Heartland Division title with a win against St. Louis on Sunday.

It was Silva’s team-leading ninth goal of the campaign and moved the Brazilian import into a second-place tie for the most goals this season in the Premier Development League.

With the loss the Lions fell to 3-7-2.
