Chill open 18th season with win in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG – The Thunder Bay Chill started 2017 on a winning note.

Midfielder Abraham Villon scored midway through the first half and his goal stood up as the only tally of the contest, giving the Premier Development League squad a 1-0 road win over host WSA Winnipeg on Saturday night.

It was Thunder Bay’s season opener.

WSA Winnipeg slipped to 0-5-1.

The two teams will play again on Sunday afternoon.
