Chill take over top spot in Heartland Division

ST. LOUIS – The Thunder Bay Chill are in charge of their playoff fate.

Adam Abdellaoui scored the lone goal of the game in the 53rd minute on Saturday, earning the Chill a key 1-0 win over Heartland Division rivals, the St. Louis Lions.

The victory vaulted Thunder Bay into top spot, a point ahead of their opponent and three points up on the Des Moines Menace, who fell 2-1 on Saturday to the St. Louis FC U23 squad. The Chill (6-2-2) maintain a game in hand on the Menace (5-4-2).

Thunder Bay will take on the Lions (6-3-1) again on Sunday, their second of three straight against their Missouri-based opponent.The Chill take on St. Louis FC U23 on Friday night at home.
