Falcons advance to provincial quarters

It’s off to the OFSAA quarterfinals for the St. Ignatius senior girls basketball team.

Laura Cooper scored a dozen points on Friday morning and Karissa Kajorinne added 11 as the Thunder Bay school narrowly defeated Barrie Central 39-38 at the provincial AA high school girls basketball championship in Sarnia. Kaili Lukan had 26 to lead Barrie Central.

The Falcons beat Renfrew 44-26 on Thursday. They will take on St. Clair on Friday night at 8:30 p.m. for the right to play in Saturday’s semifinal.
