Flyers down Ice Dogs in SIJHL preseason opener

 Chris Hoffman had two tallies and a helper for the visiting Flyers, who also got a goal from Brett Wur, the game winner that came at 16:04 of the third.

Thomas Greene had two goals for the Ice Dogs, opening the score midway through the first, the only goal of the period, then giving Dryden a 2-1 lead 4:26 into the second.

Sioux Lookout took a 3-2 lead into the final stanza, but Ryan Lobreau evened the score 3-3 at 9:21 of the third.

Jayme Brattengeier, who took over from Trevor Zangs at the halfway point of the contest, earned the win, stopping 12 of 13 shots. Kim Wildhaber allowed two goals in one period of work to take the loss.

The two teams continue SIJHL exhibition play on Friday night in Sioux Lookout.
