But the Thunder Bay skip rebounded nicely in her second match and sits at 1-1 after Day 1 of the Northern Ontario Bantam Girl’s Curling Championship.

Gaudry was walloped 14-2 by Sudbury’s Kira Brunton in her opening game, but struck back on Thursday night, downing Hayley Horton 7-2.

At Fort Frances, Kakabeka Falls’ Christopher Perozak remained perfect after the opening day of the Northern Ontario Bantam Boy’s Curling Championship, stealing one in the eight to edge Felix Lasalle 5-4 in his morning match and scoring a 7-5 win over Sudbury’s Max Cull.

Thunder Bay’s Hudson Morash squad wasn’t as fortunate, falling 6-3 to event favourite Tanner Horgan and dropping an 8-7 heartbreaker to Sault Ste. Marie’s Michael Masters in his second match of the day.
