Hunter, Kelly power Trojans to basketball win

Colin Hunter put up a game-high 22 points Tuesday and Jordan Kelly added 21 of his own, leading the Churchill Trojans to a 74-70 win over the St. Ignatius Falcons in senior boys basketball. Nick Soulias had 21 points for the Falcons.

In other senior boys play, Westgate dumped Hammarskjold 65-53.

On the junior boys court, Bryce Jorgenson’s dozen helped power Hammarskjold to a 45-40 win over Westgate. Jack Gillespie led all scorers with 23 for the Tigers.

Elsewhere it was Tallon Morris pacing the way with 23 as Churchill stomped St. Ignatius 79-51. Tyler Levent had 13 for the Falcons.

In senior girls volleyball, Hammarskjold edged Westgate 2-1, while in junior girls play it was the reverse, Westgate nudging the Vikings 2-1. Churchill swept La Verenderye 3-0 in the only other contest of the day.
