Ice Edge Holdings Inc. is expected to make it official later this afternoon – they want to bring an ECHL team to Thunder Bay.

The deal, as company CEO Anthony LeBlanc – a Thunder Bay native – is contingent on a new rink being built in the city. LeBlanc and fellow Lakehead native Keith McCullough have scheduled a news conference for Monday afternoon at Fort William Gardens.

Ice Edge, as first reported on tbnewswatch.com earlier this summer, is touring ECHL president Brian McKenna around Thunder Bay this afternoon. McKenna told tbnewswatch at the time that the league is interested in Thunder Bay, despite its relatively small size, compared to other cities the league calls home.
