The demise of the Chicago Inferno has cost the Thunder Bay Chill their final home game of the 2014 regular season.
The Chill’s July 9 game, originally scheduled for Chapples Park against the now-defunct Inferno, has been pushed back six days and will take place at Minnesota’s Shattuck St. Mary’s campus July 15 against the St. Louis Lions at noon.
The Chill were also scheduled to visit Chicago on Canada Day, but instead will travel to Springfield to take on the Demize, followed two days later by a visit to St. Louis.
League officials in a release issued Thursday said results from games played against the Inferno will continue to count in the standings.
The Chill (5-3-0) are tied atop the division with Des Moines with 15 points, though the Menace hold two games in hand.
Thunder Bay is three points up on the Lions (3-1-3) for the second and final playoff berth.
