An opening-night loss wasn’t exactly what the No. 5 Lakehead Thunderwolves were looking for on Friday night.

So on Saturday Ben Johnson and rookie Dwayne Harvey decided to do something about it. The duo scored 16 points apiece as the men’s basketball team erased the hurt of Friday’s loss with a 94-73 win over the host University of Toronto Varsity Blues.

Harvey added nine boards and four assists for the Thunder Bay squad, while Joseph Jones netted 13 points and five rebounds and Yoosrie Salhia led all players with 13 rebounds.

Arun Kumar had a game-high 19 to top the Varsity Blues.

"I was pleased with the effort the guys gave tonight after a tough loss last night. We are only successful when we outwork the other team and play together for 40 minutes. We are getting closer each night but still have a lot of work to do,” Lakehead coach Scott Morrison said in a release.
