Unfortunately for fellow Thunder Bay skip Marlo Dahl, the win came at her expense. McCarville scored one in the eighth, then stole another in the ninth to earn the 7-5 win and improve to 1-2 at the provincial women’s curling championship.

Dahl remained winless at 0-3 with the loss.

McCarville, a four-time winner of the event, is curling with lead Sarah Lang, second Kari Lavoie and third Ashley Miharija.

Dahl, curling out of the Port Arthur Curling Club, has lead Kim Zsakai, second Steph Davis and third Angela Lee on her team.

McCarville takes on North Bay's Kendra Lilly (2-1) on Wednesday afternoon, while Dahl will look for her first win against struggling defending champion Tracy Horgan (1-2).
