Neither of Northern Ontario’s entries at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships is moving on to play for a national title.

Thunder Bay skip Tirzah Keffer fell 10-5 to the Northwest Territories in a tiebreaker, and has been relegated to the seeding round after finishing the round robin at 2-4. Keffer fell 6-5 in an extra end to Quebec earlier in the day.

Only the top four teams in each pool advance. Northwest Territories skip Carina McKay-Saturnino on Wednesday will take on Quebec’s Sarah Dumais for right to advance to the championship round.

The Northern Ontario men fared no better.

Skip Matthew Roberts and his foursome failed to deliver against Quebec, falling 6-4 on Tuesday night.

Both the men’s and women’s team have been relegated to the seeding round, where they will carry over their records from the round robin. They will take on the three teams from the opposite pool and play for the 9th to 14th provincial rankings for the 2013 mixed junior doubles and the 2014 Canadian juniors.
