Midget Queens win provincial hockey crown

Michela Cava scored twice Sunday to lead the Thunder Bay Sportop Midget A Queens to a second Ontario Women'sHockey Association championship in three seasons. The Queens took the title with a 5-0 win over the Waterloo Ravens in Toronto.

The Queens took the title with a 5-0 win over the Waterloo Ravens in Toronto. Kaitlyn Tougas, Jessica Gazzola and Jillian Langtry also scored for the victorious Queens, with Megan Leikkari earning the shutout in nets.

Earlier in the day Gazzaola sent the Queens to overtime in their semifinal win over the Kanata Ottawa Senators, with Cava clinching the win 32 seconds into the second extra period.

Thunder Bay will next represent Ontario at the Esso Cup starting April 22 in Charlottetown, when they'll open against the host Capital District Cyclones.
