Northern Ontario drops second straight

A win on Friday morning will clinch a spot in the Page Playoff for Team Northern Ontario at the Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship in Ottawa. Unfortunately they seem to be a little hard to come by lately for Thunder Bay skip Gino Sonego.

A win on Friday morning will clinch a spot in the Page Playoff for Team Northern Ontario at the Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship in Ottawa.

Unfortunately they seem to be a little hard to come by lately for Thunder Bay skip Gino Sonego.

The Fort William Curling Club foursome was trounced 11-2 by Newfoundland and Labrador on Thursday evening, dropping their third game in four outings to fall to 5-3.

Northern Ontario will take on British Columbia (6-2) in Friday’s round-robin finale.

A win or a loss by Newfoundland to Manitoba would secure a spot in the playoffs. A loss by Northern Ontario, combined with a win by Newfoundland, would set up a tiebreaker game.
