Northern Ontario dropped its Draw 7 match to Alberta, but the Gino Sonego foursome clinched at least a tiebreaker berth in the process at the Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship in Ottawa.

The Thunder Bay skip fell 8-6 Thursday afternoon, but sits at 5-2 at the national event, in a three-way tie for second place.

The team, which calls the Fort William Curling Club home, can finish no worse than 5-4 when round robin play wraps up on Friday morning.

A win over Newfoundland and Labrador on Thursday night would clinch a spot in the Page Playoffs.
