Jason Strelezki’s Copper Cliff foursome stole a pair in the 10th end Tuesday to score an unlikely 5-4 win over Alberta and improved to 2-1 at the national event, being staged at Fort William Curling Club. This leaves them in a three-way tie for second place in the Grey Pool behind British Columbia at 2-0, who topped the Northwest Territories 8-2.

Saskatchewan leads the Blue Pool at 3-0, after downing Nunavut 8-2.

On the women’s side, Kathie Jackson’s Fort Frances rink fell 5-2 to Alberta and sits at 1-2 in fifth place in the Grey Pool. Manitoba, who beat Yukon 9-2 in the evening draw, leads the division at 3-0.

Ontario and Saskatchewan also boast perfect 3-0 records to top the Blue Pool standings.  Ontario took out Nova Scotia 6-4 in the eighth Tuesday night, while Saskatchewan knocked off Nunavut 10-3.

Both Northern Ontario teams take on the Northwest Territories on Wednesday.
