Paine means gain for Duluth

Paine scored a pair of goals, evening the score at 14:06 of the first and potting the winner 65 seconds into the third, handing the Clydesdales an easy 4-1 win over the host Dryden Ice Dogs.

Casey Eckman and Luke Burgstahler scored third-period insurance goals for Duluth (1-2-0), who joined the SIJHL this season.

Julius Tamasy scored the lone Dryden goal, a powerplay tally that came at the 9:23 mark of the opening period.

The Clydesdales will take on Sioux Lookout on Saturday night, one of three SIJHL contests on the schedule. In other action Wisconsin will visit Fort Frances and the Fort William North Stars will journey to Dryden.
