VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Canucks acquired Sioux Lookout defenceman Ryan Parent and forward Jonas Andersson from the Nashville Predators for defenceman Shane O'Brien and forward Dan Gendur on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old Parent, a defenceman Nashville signed to a two-year deal in July after picking him up in a deal that sent defenceman Dan Hamhuis to Philadelphia, had a goal and two assists in 48 games last season with the Flyers.
Andersson, 29, had seven goals and 13 assists in 30 games last year with Minsk Dynamo of the KHL.
O'Brien, 27, played in 65 games for the Canucks last season with 79 penalty minutes, and he played in each of Vancouver's 12 playoff games with three points and 25 penalty minutes.
Nashville will be the fourth team for O'Brien, who has played in 299 career NHL games.
Gendur, 23, split last season between Victoria of the ECHL and the AHL Johnstown Chiefs, where he had two goals and six assists in 21 games.
