It's become tradition in the hockey world to use American Thanksgiving as a barometer to gauge the progress of NHL teams. Some teams are surprisingly good and surprisingly bad at this point in time.

Both Sharp and Bortuzzo have missed a large part of the opening part of the season. but are ready for action.
According the NHL.com Bortuzzo was cleared on Nov. 17 after recovering from a lower body injury. Sharp just returned from a 14-game absence stemming from concussion-like symptoms.
